Jacqui Wicks Vintage

Jacqui Wicks sings an eclectic array of narrative songs from the songbooks of Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Nina Simone and Bob Dylan. Delving into lost standards and the occasional showtune, these are beautifully arranged renditions of songs with heart and meaning.

This is an intimate, genre defying evening of songs that shaped the 20th  Century. This is a 5 piece band led by Kevin James.

The Ukulele Lady

Ukulele is Hawaiian for ‘jumping flea’. Introduced to Hawaii by Portugeuse immigrants, the ukulele became an icon for the jazz age and has been championed by everyone from George Harrison to The King Blues.

As The Ukulele Lady, Jacqui dons an hibiscus flower, picks up her ‘jumping flea’ and entertains with an eclectic mix of songs from the 30s to the noughties.

Teaching and Coaching

Jacqui works as a vocal coach and singing teacher for private students, theatre companies, schools and colleges. If you need any advice about singing, want to start, need help with performance, get in touch. If Jacqui can’t help then she’ll know someone that can.

"Please come back and work for Red Ladder again and again, I couldn't have done it without you" - Rod Dixon, Director, Red Ladder Theatre

"As someone who had never sung on stage before, your relaxed and very friendly approach gave me the confidence to go out and do it. You spoke to us in a language we understood so we could use what you taught us. It was a pure joy to have you there." - Dave Toole, Actor.
